Cosmetic Surgery Among Men Is On The Increase
According to recent research, cosmetic surgery is no longer simply the female dominated industry that it once was, with various procedures now being carried out on an significantly increasing number of men. The research, which was carried out by the renowned cosmetic surgery company The Hospital Group revealed that there had been an astonishing 117 percent increase in the number of men choosing to have fat removal procedures alone between 2009 and 2010:
Figures have also revealed that it’s not just the fat removal procedures that men are choosing to have done, either. Other very popular procedures for males were ear reshaping and hair transplants, both of which were high up on the 2010 lists for men.
The amount of men choosing to have ear reshaping surgery rose by an equally surprising 92 percent, with hair transplant enquiries rising by a still impressive 49 per cent.
Speaking on behalf of the The Hospital Group, chief executive David Ross commented on the situation, stating that ‘we have seen a large increase in the amount of men looking to improve their appearance’ and that the industry of cosmetic surgery was no longer occupied by ‘women who take pride in the way they look.’
