Choosing A Cosmetic Surgeon

Written by simon. Posted in Breast Augmentations

choosing a cosmetic surgeonDeciding to have cosmetic surgery is a huge decision: not as huge, however, as deciding who should perform it!  There are hundreds of cosmetic surgeons practicing these days, and trying to work out who’s right for you can be overwhelming.  That’s why we’ve come up with some cosmetic surgery advice to help you make your decision:

Make sure you check out your potential surgeon’s background.  The internet is your friend here: any reputable surgery will have their own website, and you will be able to check up on the doctors, their backgrounds and their qualifications.  As well as this, you should be able to find some feedback from previous patients.

Make sure you feel at ease with them.  If you find a reputable surgeon from a well know surgery with a previous record of excellent work, but do not feel comfortable around them, then they aren’t the right doctor for you.  Take the time and get the right person for the job.

When meeting them, make sure that you’re thoroughly prepared.  Always take a list of every question you want answered with you, and make sure that you get the answers for them all.  Your surgeon should be happy to give you all the cosmetic surgery advice you want, and if they aren’t then they may not be the best doctor for you.

If your surgeon is refusing to do a certain procedure, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not the right doctor: they will usually have a good reason for not doing so.  Make sure that you take their refusal seriously, and don’t go on a desperate hunt for someone who will do the procedure: you could be risking your life.

Always make sure that you’ve done your homework, and that you know what to expect.  If your surgeon is reputed, they will be able to give you a realistic view of what the surgery can achieve.  If they’re promising something that sounds too good to be true, then it probably is, and you should avoid them.

Finally: never, ever rush your decision: it could be potentially very dangerous to end up with the wrong surgeon, so take your time to make sure you have everything you need before proceeding.  Any reputable surgeon will be aware that this is necessary preparation, and any that try to rush you are not to be trusted.
