Surgical Face Lift - Structural Fat Grafting
A week hardly goes by now without a new surgical face lift procedure coming to the fore and the latest in a long line of promising operations is the structural fat grafting procedure known as 'Lipostructure'. So what is this all about and how can it benefit you? Find out below.
Structural fat grafting is a surgical face lift procedure that 'takes fat from one area of your body where it is not needed and reinserts it into your face to plump up wrinkedl skin and reverse the effcts of ageing. Simple! As your skin gets older it loses a lot of its elasticity and thickness and by reinserting tiny amounts of fat it helps to replace lost volume, particularly around the cheeks and the middle portion of your face.
This fat is usually harvested for your face lift from your buttocks or hips while you receive either local or general anesthetic for the pain and can take around an hour to complete.During the procedure, the place from where the fat will be taken is prepped in the same way as it would be for lipo suction with a thorough clean before it it removed using a special vacuum device. The cells are then separated to remove any damaged ones and cleaned before they are reinjected in tiny quantities into the face.
Your surgeon will usually add a little more than necessary because as much as half of the fat added in your surgical face lift will die, leaving a smaller volume over the long term.
